Lets be real. When picturing a “consistent” fitness journey what do you see?
Someone who never misses a 5am workout? Whose meal preps are perfectly stacked with an assortment of exotic fruits n veggies? Someone who wakes up every single day feeling 1000% motivated?
Sounds both exhausting and completely unrealistic
Now, let us tell you the secret to consistency.
Consistency is NOT a straight line!
Its a squiggle, a loop-de-loop, a round about up the way. Its whatever you make it to be as long as you make it.
Consistency isn’t about being perfect. Its about experiment a myriad of ‘flavours’ of consistency and finding which works best for you.

Flavour 1: Non Negotiables
You have to give just 1% everyday.
That 1% will be the foundation on which you build your consistency.
It can look like
- The 7-minute Rule
- Parking lot Pumping
- Park at the far end of the lot
- Take the stairs instead of the escalator
- Hydrate!
- Before anything else in the morning hydrate
These “tiny” wins set the foundation. By prioritising identity over intensity you get into the habit of always doing something.
Flavour 2: The “Theme of the Month”
Year long goals can be daunting. With a variation the months will flow by easier and most importantly MORE FUN!!!
- Mobility March: Every day spend 10 minutes exploring your range of motion. See what feels good, push a little past your comfort zone everyday.
- Hydration June: Your primary, not necessarily only, fitness goal is to hit your water goal every single day.
- Sleep-ember: Your “workout” is prioritizing 7-8 hours of sleep (male)/ 9-10 hours of sleep (female)
With this approach not only is burnout less likely but you can consistently follow and accomplish your fitness goals.

Flavour 3: “Roll with the Punches”
Life can be an uphill battle. It sometimes feels like Life is intentionally messing with you.
Consistency isn’t about avoiding or pushing it around. It’s about navigating it.
- “Plan B” Workout
Your day blew up and can’t make it to the gym?
No problem! A 15-minute bodyweight routine will maintain your consistent habit. No excuses, just adaptability. - “Mental Health” Walk
Some days, the most consistent and important thing you can do for your fitness is… MANAGE YOUR STRESS!!!!!
Sorry for not holding your hand, but we can not stress this enough. A walk in fresh air can make all the difference. - “Rest is Progress” Rule
Constantly listening to your body when its screaming for a break is an advanced form of discipline but necessary in your journey.

Flavour 4: The “Party Planner” (Social Butterfly)
For some, consistency is fueled by community.
- Standing Gym Date:
Every Tuesday and Thursday, you meet your friend. The need to not let your friend down motivates you. - The Class Regular:
By becoming a “regular” at a specific studio/class creates a sense of belonging. You show up the workout yes, but more so the people. - YOUR DIGITAL CREW aka Your Gr8r fam!
Using an app/online community (us!) to share your wins or struggles. With us we can support, keep you accountable and CELEBRATED!
Your Challenge: Redefining your “Win”
This week Gr8r Than challenges you to throw out your old definition of consistency.
Don’t aim for perfect. Aim for present.
- Did you choose a healthy breakfast? Win.
- Did you take three deep breathes before reacting to a stressful email? Win.
- Did you play outside with your kids or dog for 20 minutes? Major win.
- Did you go to bed 30 minutes earlier? Champion-level win.
Track these. Write them down. and CELEBRATE THEM.
This is the stuff real, lasting change is made of. Not grand, sweeping gestures.
Its simply the tiny, daily deposits into the bank account of your well-being.
Consistency isn’t the gatekeeper to better you.
It’s the path you build, one small, sometimes messy, brick at a time. Now, lay your next brick.
